My first pop-up
My experience
I don’t know how craft fairs are supposed to go. I am the one usually on the other side of the table buying from people! So when I signed up back in May for this fair, I was so nervous and excited at the same time! One thing I did that helped me feel a bit more comfortable about going was I went to one. When I got there, I got to know the people selling and asked if they liked it, how they started, and told them how nervous I was. Everyone I got to talk to was very kind and encouraging so I felt really good in the end about it! After that it was 3 months of making product, ordering displays, making sure people could pay with card at my booth and so much self-advertising! It felt so good to get the confirmation email and then finally let everyone know it was official! Also seeing my name on the vendor list was so exciting!! Try to spot it down below!
The night before I packed up everything I needed, charged everything I was bringing, and we left! In high school have you ever been the first one to class, like the chairs were empty but the teacher was right there at her desk. I guess I never changed because that what it felt like when i got there.
I checked in and started setting up! I had so much energy when I got there you would think I just had 3 ice venti macchiatos with 10 shots of caffeine. It was a busy day though. There were many families shopping, going to lunch and then dinner. There were teens going to the movies, hanging out with their friends. To be honest that made me feel really old lol. It wasn’t quiet at all, it was more like waves of people.
Any kids that stopped and looked at my booth I offered them one of my free sticker samplers and I’m happy that I could make them smile.
My family and friends stopped by. My parents supported me and stayed with me throughout the whole fair. I feel really lucky to have people that support my endeavors and people that enjoy my art. Overall I had a really successful time at the fair. I will absolutely sign up for another one in the future!
